Basel!

We rented a car for three days over the weekend that our friend Scott Parrott was going to visit us (last weekend). On Saturday, before Scott arrived, we went as a family first up to the top of our ridge because the view was beautiful and then onto Basel where I had found some used toys for Carsten (tricycle, scooter, and bobby car). We had never been to Basel, so we went a few hours early and walked around the town for a bit. We visited the beautiful church, got to see the Marktplatz, and the rathaus. It was a quick and fun trip. Here are some photos:

The view from the top of our ridge. And yes, we might have climbed up about 10 flights of icy stairs to get this view... :).
It was well worth the effort :).
The Rhein River in Basel.
Cathedral in Basel
Pretty :).
I loved the shingles on the roof.
We let Carsten run around the square since there was no traffic - he was thrilled :).

Marktplatz and the Rathaus.
We saw a culture museum, but did not feel that we needed to go in as we get plenty of culture by living here :).
