Andy and I have been occasionally having Carsten repeat our mealtime prayer instead of simply praying aloud like we typically have been doing up until this point. After the first few times of repeating us, he has now felt free to improvise things that he's thankful for during the prayer as well, and prayer usually it goes something like this as of late:

Carsten: Dear God,
A/N: Thank you for this food.
Carsten: Thank you for this food.
A/N: Thank you for our family.
Carsten: Thank you for our family and Daddy granola.
A/N: Amen

If you are wondering what 'Daddy granola' is, it is the Oatmeal Squares breakfast cereal that is one of Andy's favorites and somehow became to be known to Carsten as Daddy granola (to make a distinction between that cereal and actual granola cereal which was our typical breakfast fare in Switzerland).
